Welcome to Dr. Dimitris Vlachakis Group

Assist. Professor Dimitris Vlachakis leads the Genetics and Computational Biology group at the Genetics Laboratory at the Biotechnology Department of the Agricultural University of Athens. The main scientific interests are aligned in three distinct axes: AntiCancer & AntiViral agents, Immunoinformatics and Neurodegenerative diseases. The group has the know-how and expertise in the investigation of Genetic Polymorfisms & Variability, Cloning, Protein Expression and Purification, Biological Assays, Molecular Modelling, QSAR, CoMFA, Quantum Mechanics, and the in silico drug design of low molecular weight agents and antibody-drug conjugates.
Dimitris is an Associate Researcher at the Clinical, Experimental Surgery & Translational Research of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens and he also holds a position as Adjunct Investigator of the Faculty of Natural & Mathematical Sciences at the King’s College London. The lab research is currently funded by a Microsoft for Genomics Research grant and an EC Horizons 2020 Project via the MDAKM lab at the University of Patras.
